Ground-rules

Here are some basic rules to adhere to when living on Phuket Island.

1. Wear sunscreen
2. Don’t drink the tap-water.
3. Learn the Thai word for ‘not spicy’ (mai ped)
4. Drive on the left side, but watch out for those who don’t..
5. When lost, keep driving straight. You are sure to find a beach somewhere.
6. Don’t drink and drive but if you do- don’t make an accident.
7. Don’t trust a guy when invited up to his room for “coffee”.
8. Always have a rain coat with you.
9. Never go with your boyfriend when he is going to Pathong. Trust me, you don't want to know what him and the boy's are up to.
10. When all has been said and done, know that Phuket will change you: for better, or worse.
